Букуримаста ся аме
Хуклям тхай ви кхэлдям,

Bukurimásta sja amé
Xukljám thaj vi kheldjám,
Sja le šejá thaj v’el šavé
Intjál-ordál našljám.
Пала пайесте кон нашляс?
О Гранчя тхай Бакро,
Ғай ви о Лайош ляс, гэляс,
Макар сас цынорро.

Однаждый мой отец принес
Большую работу домой.
Работа состояла в том, чтобы полудить
Большие котлы.
One day, my father
Brought home a big job.
The job consisted
Of building large cauldrons.
От радости все мы
Запрыгали и заплясали,
Все дочери и сыновья
Туда-сюда забегали.
We all, from happiness
Jumped and danced,
All the daughters and the sons
They all ran here and there.
Кто за водой пошёл?
Гранчя и Бакро,
И Лайош взял и пошёл,
Хотя и был маленьким.
Who went after the water?
Granča and Bakro,
And Lajoš also went along,
However small he was.
Несет песок Бакалой,
Чтобы оттереть котёл.
А где же Сима? Где она?
Дрова сухие несёт.
Bakaloj brings the sand
For scrubbing the cauldron.
But where is Sima? Where is she?
It’s the dry firewood, she carries.
Кирпичи красные мы принесли,
На землю положили,
Хорошенько-хорошенько размельчили,
Да ещё размяли.
We brought over red bricks,
And we laid them on the ground.
We crushed them very well,
As well as mashed it.
Маленький горн мы сделали,
Меха принесли,
На огонь котел взяли и поставили,
И обожгил его.
We made a small mound,
And brought the furs.
We brought and set the cauldron on it,
And we burned it.
Олово, как масло, тает,
Батюшка тряпку взял,
Тряпкой провел туда-сюда,
Красиво полудил.
Like butter, the tin melts,
Dear father took a rag,
With the rag he wiped this way and that,
And beautifully he tinned it.
Котёл мы сняли, трём,
Чтобы был красивым, чтобы блестел.
[Ромскую] работу выполняем,
Дым от нас идёт!
We three took the cauldron off,
So that it would be beautiful, so that it would shine.
We finished the Romani work,
Smoke is coming off us!
